RJC's River City Phase 3 takes home an Award of Excellence
- Details
RJC Engineers (RJC) has taken home an Award of Excellence for Best Tall Building under 100 meters, for presented by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.
River City Phase 3 is an impressive 32-storey, 320,000 sq. ft. residential tower with distinctive architectural boxes on the west exterior building elevation, achieved by utilizing cantilevered concrete walls. The five to eight-storey podium contains a mixture of uses (residential, loading dock, retail and parking on a ramped structure) that required intense study to align the tower columns through the podium level and avoid deep structural transfers.
The project has also adopted a sustainability approach and is targeting LEED® Gold certification. The River City project has won multiple design awards including BILD’s Best Design Award for Best High Rise Building Design, a People's Choice Award and a Toronto Urban Design Award.
