The International Facilities Project (IFP), at YYC Calgary International Airport (YYC), is a 2,000,000 sq. ft. addition that doubles the size of terminal facilities at the airport.

The five floor level structure houses utility services, passenger processing and departure halls, and adds 24 new gates for International and Transborder (U.S.) inbound and outbound passengers.

The project is the largest single expansion undertaken at YYC Calgary International Airport and is designed to accommodate continued growth for the airport for decades to come.

RJC worked with the design team and the Calgary Airport Authority on the project for nearly a decade, collaborating to deliver an exceptional facility to welcome the world to Calgary.

Key structural considerations were budget and schedule, a high level of aesthetic quality for the exposed structure, constructability, flexibility and adaptability for the future, and sustainable design and construction principles.

The result is an impressive and functional world-class terminal.
