Pacific Central Station - Façade Restoration
Vancouver’s Pacific Central Station had suffered extensive façade damage due to the original design’s unsuitability to the unique West Coast climate.
In 2009, with funding from the federal government, an extensive restoration and rehabilitation project for VIA Rail Canada began.
RJC’s Building Science and Restoration team was part of the comprehensive upgrading of the damaged historic building envelope.
In collaboration with Donald Luxton and Associates heritage consultant and Thibodeau Architecture Design, RJC helped assess the façade, plan the scope of work based upon the deficiencies discovered, developed contract documents and provided field services during construction.
