Opened in 2008, the $35M North Vancouver City Library and Parking Garage is located within the heart of the city and is a distinctive civic landmark.

The three-storey, 36,000 sq. ft. library features contemporary design elements including a dramatic glass wall, twin atria and open stair on one face.

Externally, the building gives prominence to a plaza with hard landscaping.

Beneath the library and the adjacent public plaza is a one and a half-level underground parking garage with 100 stalls.

The LEED® Gold certified building incorporates sustainable design principles that were adopted during both the design and construction phases.

The Central Lonsdale District Energy Plant located beneath the plaza provides energy to the library by utilizing the large collection of solar panels following the south slope of the roof monitor, providing heat for domestic hot water to the District.
