University of Toronto Scarborough Environmental Science and Chemistry Building
The University of Toronto Scarbourough Campus' Environmental Science & Chemistry Building is comprised of a number of new research and teaching labs including additional support and instrumentation space associated with labs.
The building rises five storeys with a gross floor area of 110,00 sq. ft. The facility is the new home for Chemistry and Environmental Science departments and includes fumehood-intensive labs, wet labs, dry labs, seminar/meeting rooms, student study space, administrative offices and a tunnel to connect to the existing adjacent Instructional Centre.
The building incorporates sustainable technologies and has achieved LEED Gold certification.
The construction budget is approximately $50 million.
