Stanley Park Mini Train Station and Waiting Area
The original Stanley Park Miniature Train Station was built in 1964, but unfortunately the station building and adjoining covered guest area was destroyed in October 2012, due to an arson fire.
The City envisioned a design that would replicate and compliment the original “heritage” look and feel of the previous structure and space.
RJC was brought on board as structural engineer to be on the revitalization project.
Key design elements of the project included a new single-storey mini station and waiting area.
Notable structural elements of the guest waiting area featured steel framing with exposed GLT roof Soffit with an architectural finish to mimic the “heritage” look the Client envisioned.
