Rosedale Traditional Community School
The Rosedale Traditional Community School is a K-9 school facility located in Chilliwack, BC.
The only K-9 school in the Chilliwack School District, the school also incorporates a neighbourhood learning centre aimed at encouraging engagement and participation of the community’s residents in social, educational, and recreational activities.
The existing Rosedale Elementary School and Rosedale Middle School were consolidated into this one new facility with a capacity for 510 students with all the components required to address both the elementary and middle school programs.
The design includes a library/media lab, two gymnasiums, art and textiles rooms, wood shop, drama/multi-purpose facilities, community spaces and First Nations learning centres.
Working as part of a design build team, RJC Engineers provided an attractive and efficient structural solution for the facility utilizing wood materials where practical and addressing the unique needs of the school.
A LEED® Gold Certified building, the Rosedale Traditional Community School was designed and built on a compressed timeline and remains a source of pride for the school district and the community.
