With the grand opening in late 2018, the building marks the start of a new era for the Faculty, creating a hub of engineering research and education that enhances opportunities for students, faculty, alumni and industry partners to collaborate and develop innovative solutions to some of the world’s greatest engineering challenges.

The facility houses interactive spaces for learning and design, as well as a number of multidisciplinary research centres and institutes.

The 11-storey, 161,458 sq. ft, above grade Engineering Building, includes various teaching facilities, a 500-seat auditorium, design studios, and administrative centres for the Centre for Water Innovation, the Centre for Global Engineering and the Centre for Sustainable Energy faculties.

The $68 million building attained LEED® Silver accreditation by incorporating sustainable design initiatives including green roofs.
