The Massey Tower
Massey Hall, one of Toronto’s historic landmarks, underwent a complete revitalization with the development of this new 60-storey mixed-use residential and retail tower.
The 528,000 sq. ft. tower with 687 units is wrapped in a fritted glass shroud and patterned by sculpted balconies.
Due to the tightness of the site, Massey Tower’s podium was built out to the lot lines, replacing the existing private parkette in front and surface parking in behind, while transforming the connecting back lanes which abut the heritage structure.
The space constraints are reflected in the podium, which hides parking spaces behind its frit glass cladding, accessible to cars via a special vehicle elevator instead of space-consumptive ramps.
